Status — read this first
What follows is how the factory describes its current offerings, at current factory prices. Those prices are the airframe leaving Hodonin — they are not a delivered U.S. cost, and SD Planes USA package details for the United States are still being finalized. Talk to us before you commit to a budget, and we will tell you exactly where things stand.
Plans + Basic
English CAD drawings on A1 sheets, with curved parts printed full size as templates, a construction manual and a material list — together with the Basic Kit, which the factory lists as required.

The factory states that Basic Kit parts are not described for builder fabrication in the plans.

The Basic Kit plus a finished fuselage tunnel.

Rudder Starter Kit
A smaller introduction to the construction methods: material, hardware, pre-cut ribs, full-size drawings, the construction manual, glue and varnish. The factory suggests it for builders without previous wood and foam experience.

Airframe Material Kit
Airframe parts from the firewall aft: pre-cut wood, CNC-cut plywood, pre-cut XPS ribs, the undercarriage, controls, hardware, pre-moulded composite parts, canopy shield, plans and manual.

Airframe 51% Kit
Factory description: wings completed through the upper-skin stage; the fuselage prepared toward quick-build stage with the tank and fin not glued; tails and flaperons left as builder work; undercarriage, controls, hardware, pre-moulded composite parts, plans and manual.
Spacek confirmed on 2026-09-23 that the current SD-1 TGC 51% kit has not changed from the factory kit configuration evaluated in 2017. That is a statement about the kit, not a new FAA action: the FAA has not re-evaluated it, it is not FAA approved, and the conventional tailwheel and castoring-nose-wheel configurations are not covered.

Quick Build
Factory description: finished fuselage including the fin, wings, flaperons, elevator and rudder with major structures ready for primer, plus canopy parts, seat, undercarriage, controls, hardware, plans and manual.
The FAA evaluation covers the SD-1 TGC kit it defined; it does not extend to this package.

The factory lists these as excluded from the airframe kits. There is also the engine, the propeller and everything you choose to put in the panel.

We are not going to publish an hours figure.
Build-hour estimates float around for every kit airplane, and they are only meaningful when they are tied to a specific package, a specific configuration and a specific builder.
We are building one ourselves. When we have hours that mean something — from our own shop, on a package we can name — we will publish them, and we will say what they cover.
Until then, ask us what other builders have actually experienced.
A package name is not a regulatory status.
The FAA's National Kit Evaluation Team evaluated an SD-1 TGC kit defined by a Spacek parts list dated January 2, 2016. An evaluation is not certification and not approval — the FAA says so in the letter itself.
A current factory package that carries "51%" in its name is not automatically the same kit that was evaluated, and the evaluation does not extend to the Quick Build package.
This matters when you build, so we have given it a page of its own.
